To date, all of H2H's music has been written in
house by our musicians and intercessors. However, in upcoming
projects, other local artists will be represented.
We covet your prayers
that the Lord will continue to increase our sensitivity to receiving
Heaven's songs, as well as to daily deepen our anointing and passion
to pray. Our focus, and motto, ~ "Great prayer, accompanied by really good music." Our heart is to never
stray from that call.
- H2H welcomes submissions by other authors for prayer put
to song. If the Lord gives you a prayer, specifically pertaining to one of our
upcoming projects, PLEASE feel free to bring it to our attention. Lyrics only
submissions are also accepted for consideration. AS YOU WRITE, our
production manager asks that you consider the following:
-
The songs need to BE prayer, talking TO God on behalf of others (intercession),
NOT ABOUT Him to others (declarations).
-
Include as much scripture as possible.
-
Rhyme is good, but not necessary.
-
Don't try to cover every aspect of the subject you are writing about. If
your verses are more than four full length lines on a page, they may be too
much. Consider splitting it into two verses or condense your thoughts
into shorter ones.
-
If your song has a chorus, it should be shorter than the verses with more
repetitive phrases.
-
Try to keep melodies to a 12 - 13 note range. Wider ranges make the song
harder to sing.
-
Your song does not have to follow a normal song structure. (i.e. verse, chorus,
verse, chorus, bridge, chorus, etc.) It's nice if it does, but don't
worry TOO much about structure.
-
Try not to use phrases that you've heard before in other songs.
The goal is to communicate the message in a new way.
-
To protect your song internationally, and make it available for playing on the
radio, you will need to register the copyright of your song with the Library of
Congress. There is a fee of $20 for each registration, no matter how many
songs are included. Forms and instructions should be obtained from the
Library of Congress.
-
Registration with Christian Copyright Licensing International (CCLI) is highly
recommended. We suggest that you sign up with CCLI as a writer.
It's free, and allows churches who have a CCLI license to make copies of your
song for use in their church services. CCLI takes care of royalty
distribution to the song owners, based on use of the song.
-
Your song may or may not be chosen to be used by H2H. We may also ask
that you make adjustments to the song. Please be ready for this. If
you are unwilling to consider changes, we fully understand, but ask that you
choose not to submit the song for consideration.
-
Please submit all songs with a tape AND Lyric/Chord charts. The tape MUST
have a lead vocal with instrumental accompaniment. Obviously this does not
apply if you just submitting lyrics only.
Forward lead sheets along with audio tape to:
